My employer was shut down for the Holiday, from 12-25-09 – 1-4-10. Do I qualify for unemployment benifits that this week?
Eileen, there are a lot of factors including if you recieved holiday pay. At any rate, if you do not have a current claim open, you could probably open one, but they have something called a ‘waiting week’, where you do not get paid for the 1st 5 days you are unemployed. So the only thing you could do is open a claaim, and then the next time you are off with no pay due to no fault of your own, you would be able to collect money for those days. Hope this helps….
